Some common reasons for equipment loss...



As we all know, with the increase of the service life of the equipment, the repetition of the operation process and the consumption of raw material energy, the wear and tear of the equipment cannot be fundamentally avoided.

The life of modern equipment includes natural life, technical life and economic life. The natural life is mainly determined by the physical wear and tear of the equipment. Technical life is mainly determined by the intangible wear of equipment, while economic life is determined by the increase of equipment maintenance cost and the decrease of use value.

Today, according to years of industry experience and research on the bead mill, PUHLER summarized the following common reasons for equipment loss and the corresponding solutions, hoping to help people to prevent and reduce physical wear, extend economic life.


Mechanical seal leakage


* Separator Pressure

Analysis of reasons:

There have some broken zirconium beads in the material, the separator blocked by the broken beads, creating the high pressure, the pressure hold out against the mechanical seal, and causes the leakage

Solutions:

Remove the blockage and clean the separator, replace the zirconium beads

 bead mill



*Seal ring damage

Analysis of reasons:

1、The stationary ring of mechanical seal has leakage, the seal ring damaged;

2、The cooling water may be alcohol, water or other solvents;

3、The mechanical seal had been used for a long time, the inner seal ring aging may cause leakage;

4、Accidental damage due to improper disassembly and cleaning.

Solutions:

1. Replace the new mechanical seal;

2. If the downtime is long, clean the equipment in time.


*Residual foreign matter

Analysis of reasons:

1. The machine is not cleaned timely after a long downtime;

2. After a long shutdown, the material solidified on the rotating ring and the stationary ring of the mechanical seal, cause the failure of axial compensation of the stationary ring and the leakage of the mechanical seal.

Solutions:

1. Replace the new mechanical seal;

2. If the downtime is long, clean the equipment in time;

3. Keep solvent soaking in the grinding chamber to prevent solidification of residual materials


*Material entered mechanical seal

Analysis of reasons:

1. High pressure of the chamber cause the material entered the mechanical seal;

2. The equipment is not used for a long time and the cleaning is not doing properly. So the stationary ring is blocked by the material, which leads to the material entering the mechanical seal.

Solutions:

Replace the seal ring of stationary ring and rotating ring.



Operating Issue


*Host cannot start

Analysis of reasons:

1. The shutdown time is too long, and the rotating ring and the stationary ring are stuck;

2. The equipment is not cleaned enough, and there is material blockage left.

Solutions:

Turn the belt pulley around 2-5 times by hand before starting.


*Plate heat exchanger blockage

Analysis of reasons:

The solid content of the material is relatively high, and it is not cleaned after shutdown, which resulting the material deposited in the plate heat exchanger tube.

Solutions:

Clean the plate heat exchanger.


*Abnormalnoise from belt pulley

Analysis of reasons:

1, zirconium bead filling amount is too much, cause the high current;

2. Retighten the belt pulley and spacer;

3. Butter loss at the bearing end.

Solutions:

1. Reduce the filling amount of zirconium beads;

2. Tighten belt pulley and spacer;

3. Add butter.


*The finished product has discoloration

Analysis of reasons:

1. It may be that no solvent was used to clean the equipment before starting up, and there is cooling water in it;

Solutions:

1. Turn off the cooling water switch every time the material is finished,to prevent the cooling water entering the chamber;

2. The machine should be cleaned with a new solvent before grinding the materials and then start the process.


Normal wear and tear


*The equipment has abnormal noise

Analysis of reasons:

1. The end cover of the rotor of the grinding mill is damaged, caused the chamber friction during operation, resulting in abnormal sound of high current;

2. Damaged seal ring on the lock nut will has abnormal sound, and lead to main shaft has material entering;

Solutions:

Change the accessories.


In order to maintain, restore and improve the technical state of the equipment, please follow the operation rules correctly, keep the daily maintenance, inspection and testing on equipment, can effectively reduce the equipment failure, reduce the production cost, and extend the economic life.
